Our Vineyards

Traditional grape varieties

The grape variety is, in keeping with tradition, 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The topsoil is Argilo Calcaire (clay and limestone) which is rich in calcium and minerals. Below is a bed of limestone rock where natural water sources provide deep level water supplies for the roots.

Terroir

Geologically exceptional soil types & micro-climate

The surface area is 5.6 hectares, the total of which is certified as organic (Agricuture Biologique/ECOCERT).

The vines are on average 25-30 years old. They benefit from all the advantages of a dry microclimate. The grapes provide a full bodied redwine with a soft tannic structure. The claret from St Emilion Puisseguin is renowned for its deep ruby color and intense aromas of ripe cherries, plums, blackberries and other dark fruits. On the palate, you’ll find succulent notes of ripe red fruit along with nuances of vanilla and baking spices on a long finish.

Organic

Our organic approach to winemaking

The work done in the vinyards is traditional, but also use more modern methods (leafing, green harvesting, enviromentally friendly products..) to improve the quality of the production.

The wine is vinified in stainless steel vats, for better temperature control during the fermentations, it is then fined in traditional concrete vats, and afterwards in barrels where it matures to perfection and develops a strong, solid yet supple flavour, rich colour and superb bouquet.
